The Problem

Users lacked a unified and secure platform to track diverse financial assets (bank accounts, stocks, crypto) from multiple institutions. Existing solutions were often complex or didn't provide educational insights for beginners.

The Solution

Developed a modular backend using Python scripts for secure data fetching via APIs (Plaid, brokerage APIs) or secure protocols. Pocketbase provided a flexible NoSQL-like database adaptable to heterogeneous financial data. The React frontend utilized Recharts for clear visualizations and Zustand for robust state management.

Results & Learnings

Successfully launched the MVP, enabling users to connect accounts and visualize asset allocation. Key learnings included navigating complex financial API integrations, optimizing data synchronization, and the importance of clear data visualization for financial literacy.
